To Challenge Or Not To Challenge? To Plan Or Not To Plan?
What is the one thing that will help avoid unnecessary stress and frustration from unexpected challenges in business?
One word… A Plan
To be more specific… a Personal Game Plan
… And a block of Lindt Dark Chocolate 😉
… But seriously… when it comes to challenges…
Who do you need to be to Win the Game?
Very broadly speaking, there are 3 types of people in this world.
1. The Doom and Gloomers
These people tend to find the worst in every situation. Negative, no and doubt are words often associated with Doom and Gloomers
They tend to be glass half empty rather than glass half full
2. The Accepting
Or Realists… these are people that live in the now basing what they know on facts and past events rather than hopes of the future
Realists often use language like…
‘I it is what it is… that’s how things go… history shows that…’
3. The Positive Outlookers or Optimists
Well… they have an idealistic way of seeing situations and are positive about the future.
These people are usually happy with a real zest for life and a motivation to overcome challenges
Evidence suggests that optimism is important in coping with difficult events. Many studies support the same conclusion that optimism is healthy... that optimists live longer, have better functioning immune systems and cope better with difficult circumstances. Studies even show that an increase in optimism decreases the risk of early death by 19%.

My Challenge of a Regular Fitness Routine
I’ve been trying for years… without success to create a regular fitness routine for me…
And recently, I worked out how…
I’ve been experimenting with different styles of meditation to what I’m used to… chakra clearing… manifestation… in-depth gratitude… affirmations… binaural music… connection with soul…
And what has happened is that I’ve become deeply connected with my body (and stepped out of my thinking brain)
From listening to my body, I worked out that my walks need to be challenging, including 1. steep hills, 2. speed (faster than others) and 3. time trials, against myself
As much as I’m enjoying my new found fitness routine I know how life gets in the way
But because I’m an optimist… I think to myself…
Where there’s a will there’s a way…
And that way is to have a Personal Game Plan

What is a Game Plan?
It’s a pathway of how to get from where you are now to where you want to go
It’s my plan of steps to take and obstacles to overcome to achieve my goal.
A game plan is a strategy… here’s how to create one…
>>> I start with the end in mind and work backwards by asking myself “What do I need to do to achieve my goal?”
>>> I ask myself this question again and again and again until the steps are small enough to achieve
Sometimes a game plan or strategy consists of 3 steps, other times it will be more

Pretend you’re already there
~ Step out as if you’ve already achieved what you wanted to achieve.
~ Head up… Shoulders back… and march on with confidence
When you see yourself there and feel yourself there, you’re pretty much there…
And your energy will shine through
Stay open to new opportunities
You’ll never know what you’ll learn when you go forth with an open mind
Stay in the moment
Look for the signs… Look for the lessons…
Appreciate where you are and look for the new things happening around you… but don’t force the signs
They will present themselves
Smile at Yourself
Have a fun conversation with yourself
A lighthearted conversation… and make the moment more enjoyable
Do that often
When your spirits are high so are your results

I challenge you to pay attention to your words
For the next week I challenge you to only engage in positive conversations, go on a negative mindset diet
I challenge you to see the positive in everyone and everything and observe what happens.
And I challenge you to smile at yourself in the mirror every day 🙂
If you do this, I almost guarantee that you will see changes in every part of your life
